What was written above is TOTALLY WRONG and BASELESS.Every shloka in Guru Gita which is from "SKANDA PURANA" says contary to what was written above. Many major tantras contradict the above. Personal opinions are opinions and have no value. The reference to islam is in poor taste. For a shisya, Guru is more than God and HAS TO BE WORSHIPPED. There is absolutely no moxa without worshipping the Guru.

There is absolutely no moxa without worshipping the Guru. Satish I respectfully request you to adopt a milder tone. Is it not enough to lay the facts on the table and leave the matter at that. Especially (in this context) using all capital letters in words is like shouting out loud (an internet etiquette). Let us take this discussion purely at philosophical level. (side note: The true context of capital letters, originally in Greek, was to praise great men and women. That is, when ancient greeks used to refer to great ones, they use capitals. That is why when I refer to ambaa, I use SHE, HER, etc.) AUM umAmaheshvaraabhyaannamaH
