Guest guest
The distance between Trichy and Kulithalai is 40 Kms. The three temples mentioned are not exactly in Kulitalai itself. The sampradaya method of worship is to take a pratha snana in the aganda cauveri at Kulitalai and worship the Kadambar NAthar at Kulitalai. Then cross the Cauveri by a road bridge and go to the Eangoi Malai which is atop a hillock by noon. After worship at Eangoi Malai. again cross the cauveri back to Kulitalai and proceed to Ratnagiri which is on the Kulitalai Manapparai road. This temple is atop a medium hill. You will have to walk up the hill which will take atleast an hour. Kindly note that this is not all. You will also have to visit the Simhapuriswarar at Karupattur 15 Kms from Kulitalai on the Kulitalai Karur Highway, for arthajamun. Tha local samprodaya is to visit all four temples in a single day. I give this info as i was a student of vedanta at the local patasala a few years back. Guest guest
> On Temple Tour, Srirangam Namaste. If there is enough time, I suggest the following: When visiting Srirangam or any temple, imagine yourself as an Alwar or a well known Shiva/Ambaa-bhakta. In Srirangam, early in the morning before Sunrise, start by foot from Cauvery and walk towards the temple before temple doors open. While in the temple and while walking to the temple, remembering all the time that one is pretending to be the great bhakta-Saint in thought and deed. If there is not enough time to do this, one may do the pretending while visiting the temple, however short is the duration possible. Guest guest
You will require a minimum of 1 1/2 days to 2 days for the 9 temples. Your best bet of being based centrally will be Mayiladuthurai (Mayavaram). There is a decent hotel there. I think it is Malar. The accomomodation is not bad at all. You will need to do the following Suryanaar Koil - For Suryan Tingaloor - For Chandran Vaitheeswaran Koil - For Angarakan Tiruvengadu - For Budhan Alangudi - For Guru Kanjanoor - For Shukran Tirunallar - For Sani Kizhperumpalam - For Ketu Tiru nageswaram - For Rahu I would suggest an iterinary but I might be wrong. Malar has a board in its reception itself which details directions, distances etc. A very good idea would be to talk to the local tour operators in Malar itself. They are quite helpful.
