Guest guest
Dear one Respects to you! I have been reading from the various postings from the other learned members. I don't have either the experience of HER nor the knowledge about the scriptures as some of them have. But still this mesg is something like notes from a fellow traveler and from some one who has similar "hard and very tough ideas." It looks like you want to destroy some vasanaas and the effects on them on you. Have you tried just accepting those as THEIR (Mahadeva and Mahadevi's) blessings, whether you like them or not. She is the MOTHER.SHE wouldn't have given anything unless SHE knew that it is most appropriate to you. Acceptance opens the door to transcendence. ( A small percentage of what I have written has been my experience.) Offer HIM AND HER all that you have, even those you think you don't like and want to transcend. She will take care. In fact, everything is already taken care of. My advance apologies in case I offended you. ( In Hindi , they say only small mouths talk big things.) May the Goddess me with you!! Regards Gopi Kalika Putra [] Monday, February 18, 2002 11:24 AM A request to all ambal members please read and help! Dear and respected member, some of you are the wisest people on the internet in relation to shiva and the devi. I am a passive member but today have a question to ask of all of you. You see by birth I am a brahmin but I come from Fiji and live in Australia. As you would know we are very far form India. From my grandfather these traditions have been lost. As a shaiva and a shaktha I intend to follow the shastras. My question consists of two parts. What are the duties of a Brahmin. I dont have a white rudraksha but make ado with the brownish ones. I do the Bhasma ritual as in relation to bhasma jabala upnishad. But there must more obligations. MY other question is that is there a mantram or siddhi dedicated to either Shiva or shakthi via which one can fget rid of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, MOha especailly Kama. Shiva was the incenarator of Kama deva and I wonder if there is any way I could envoke that form to destroy that characteristic in myself. I am doing my best but I want to get rid of such thoughts as well. I aplore your wisdom and await replies in agony. dakinic_monk Movies- Vote for your nominees in our online Oscars pool. Guest guest
Kama is very tough to beat and most often it forces us to deviate from our main aim of realization or bhakthy. In my experience every attempt to get over it directly makes the matter worse .So it is better to not to deal with it directly in our time. Never fix in your mind any does and don'ts. Concentrate on external activities. I believe it is not necessary to focus internally intentionally. At present we must admit that we are not fit enough to concentrate on any internal chakras or meditate .Perhaps this may not be required atall for our nature . Read books like Yogavasishta , Mandukykarika along with Lalitha sahasranama or other stotras. Understand that We are not the doers of our good deeds or bad deeds hence it is not required to think of past or future. Be always in the now and see that you worship Amma with all your deeds .( Soudaryalahari 27). Our aim is beyond all thoughts ,shastras and rituals. Don't bother about any rituals which are not practical. All rituals are for making our mind pure and ideal for surrendering. They are not the only way. Easier way to most of us is to try to practise Karmayoga, Njanayoga and Bhakthyyoga together . Sri Ramakrishna's books will be of immense help in this regard. I have also found a site http://that.i.am which is simply great. and a marvelous group god-realized. The specialty of this groups is that all our queries are answered by a Realized Person named Ms. Ganga Karmokar . presently in Rishikesh, India. Post your querries to her . She will be able to give you appropriate guidance Rajesh V M
