Kaushik,

I have always had this doubt about why does on need manthra inititation from

a Guru. Kaushik( and the Group), pl read me in the correct light. I am not

arguing about the need for the Guru, but genuinely want to know wny our

tradition always insists on a Guru, when ( say for example) the mantra, its

meaning and the proper proyoga can be taking it from authentic scriptures.

Needless to say ,the siddhi of the mantra happens faster with the Genuine

blessings of The Guru.

A mantra itself is so very powerful. Is the Guru needed becoz the energy of

the mantra might become too much for the student to handle. Is it may be

becoz the pronounciation could be wrong unles one knows sanskrit. Or is it

that there are certain proyogaas which have to be taught?

( What actually is a proyoga. I am sorry to ask you such 'baalapaatam' sort

of questions. But I really would like to know.I can guess that prayoga could

mean 'proper usage' or application of the mantra(and the energy ) in a

particular way.But in the context of a mantra what does it mean. )

Apraadha kshamaa.

May Bala bless us all

Kaushik ji,

It would be a great service to other devotees who are interested, if you

could please post the sowbhagya thantram parayanams in the archives or

dispatch them as an attachment to all the members so that any one interested

may download them?

Thanks.

ur question is very genuine. i also had this. that is egoism

it is very difficult to overcome it not only for u but also

for me.before answering ur question i would like to

know more details about u,like ur place of birth,ur

educational qualification, ur profession, ur maritial

status, age, ur knowledge about this upasana etc.,

u may ask why? viewing all this i will be able to

give u a convincing reply. understanding Vedas is very

difficult for a commonman.it is very abstract. but u

can understand it through puranas. why because

application of truth depends upon time environment

I.Q level of the person. Even material knowledge

requires a teacher, though some may read themselves

and understand. the subject. that also he reads the

books written by somebody. i quote u one example.do u know about Ekaliva. He

was greater than Arjuna

in the art of aiming the arrows.how?because of his gurubhakthi.

he did not learn through direct teacher, but only

through his idol.when he can attain such a height in

that art, u can imagine his capacity if only he would

have learnt through direct presence of Drona.

Human form is not ordinary frame of matter.Jeevatma

acts on it.Only a burning fire(candle) can lit another.

More in my next.

I see your approach. Unable to see how are linking my question with egoism.

I am not refusing to learn manthra thu a Guru, but was only requestng the

group to enlighten the significance of the initiation through Guru. You have

enough instances in our puranas to tell that shraddha of the sadhaka and the

blessings of the Goddess takes you a long way. She alone can bless a person

to even have her Darshan.

haing said that, really dont know how much you can guess about me knowing my

details. born in Neyveli. brought by god fearing parents. heard mother

reciting lalitha sahasranama, soundaryalahari, maathrukapushpamaala,

ashtalakshmi stotram, abiraami andhadhi right from my early age.Dad used to

recite vedas. grown with elders who were constipated with the system of

rituals? without "experiencing" what they did. (they wouldnt know why they

did it,or who was the rishi who was the author of the practise. why is it

done this way. how does the erngy of the practis change it done

differently.) Did Graduation from Sri Sathya Sai Institure,Whitefield. CWA.

Manager Finance and quality systems. married with a 11 month young kid.

Reiki Teacher. kept alive and interest in Vedas scriptures right from young

days. recently started learning rudhram and chamakam by listening to them

and reading the translation from books. recite lalitha sahasranamam slowly

with the proper pronounciation.Recently initiated into Bala Mantra. Feel the

fullfilment of a wish and start of a journey to feel the presense of GOD all

around us and see life as Her very blessings.

That much about my life.

May Bala bless us.

i am happy to receive ur reply mail so quickly. this shows that ur urge to

know.i am getting clarified in my mind about ur upbringing u r really

fortunate to have such

parentage.divine aura fills ur family.ur humbleness

incite me to speak freely to u. Guru's guidance is required

whenever we tumble and drown in the swimming

current.u r absolutely correct to say that no purpose

is served by repeating mechanically a manthra many

times without keepin g the mind on the swarupam

of manthra.these rituals r only for training the mind

if that does not serve that purpose, they r no use.

Guru though in the beginning appear in the human form

later when we practice vigorously truly keeping

the bhakthi on him, he would not be seen as

a man or woman but certainly seen as Divine

Mother herself. At last we ould find that actually

that Guru is noithing but our own reflection.
