Guest guest
Dearest Subramanian Ganesh and Omnagarajan, I would like to express my deepest and most sincere thanks to you both for sharing with us the prayers of the ThirumuRai, the Durga Chalisa and Durga Stutih. i would like to thank you both not only for sharing the original prayers but also for providing translations and the occasional commentary. As a NRI, born in the US and raised in Michigan, i have never had the opportunity to learn sanskrit, therefore i really cant understand the meanings of these hymns without a translation. The prayers and translations which you both have shared with us allow english-speaking Devibhakthas (like myself) to more readily appreciate the traditions of Shaktha poetry, as well as to understand how our spiritual ancestors conceived of the sacred. This is a great service which you both are doing in providing a bilingual approch to Shaktha hymnals, and i would like to offer my deepest thanks and appreciation. i hope nobody is offended by my saying so, but i do sometimes feel a bit ostracised from our cultural traditions when i read postings that offer no translations. I am sure the message-posters do not intend to cause that feeling... nevertheless, i often wish that i knew what such-n-such a prayer meant. When i pray to Devi, or when i reflect on other prayers to Devi (or to any other of our blessed gods), i would ideally want to know what i am saying. I want to thank you both for showing us what the meanings are of the hymns you have both posted. I will be sure to include them in my own devotions. Thanks again and may the Cosmic Mother bless and kkep you. And let us all pray for the blessed Peace which our poor Earth and sad species so desperately needs Om Shanti Shanti Om Saranam Chettikulangara Bagavathi Saranam BadraKaaliAmman Saranam Kodungalur BagavathiAmman Saranam Saranam!
