Guest guest
There is an explicit reference to 4 navarAtri-s in shrii devii bhaagavatam. Besides vasanta and sarat kaala, other two are a) maagha maasa b) aashhaaDa maasa. I will verify this later and quote the exact chapter and verse. Here devii directly answers sudarshana and says the four navarAtris are respectively in chaitra, aashhaaDa, aashvina, and maagha. (in all these months navaraatri starts in shukla paxa prathama and ends in navami). (this episode of sudarshana extols the greatness of kLiim. sudarshana, a great devi bhakta, whenever he speaks, those words are worth remembering again and again. Many of his words, should be part of one's sharaNaagati smaraNam) b) In the same book III - Chapter XXVI - verses 3-5 vyAsa mentions about importance of the navarAtri-s during Spring and Autumn (chaitra and aashivna). He says that these two months are like jaws of Lord yama, and to protect oneself the devotee should observe the navaraatri. (giri long ago, in 1997, mentioned to me that such a reference about jaws of yama occurs in agni puraana as well). This entire chapter describes a particular method of observing navaraatri. Kindly refer to devii bhaagavatam. Ravi
