The three devi's are Sri Thiruvudai ammam at melur(near manali off ennore in

N.Madras),Sri Vadivudai amman in tiruvittoyur(N. Madras) and Sri Kodiyidai

amman at Thirumuulai voyil(NW Madras) forming corners of a triangle. The

three Siva's are Sri Thirumangeesar , Sri Padampakka nathar and Sri

Masilamaniisar respectively; incidentaly these are swayambhu lingams. The

three devi idols are from the same rock sculptured by the same sthapathi. it

is usually to visit these three temples in this order in the morn, midday

and even on full moon coincided with friday. The first linga has a copper

kavacam which is not removed, the second has a kavacam removed on karthia

pournami and subsequent two days view and the third is covered with sandal

paste which is removed only on citra month satabishak(catayam) nakshtra.

The melur temple is relatively small , has two cahdeesar sannidhis, and a

underground paasage. The tiruvottoyur tempe is very famous- one of the saiva

trinity sundarar got married here for the second time, there are twenty

seven lingas installed by the 27 nakshatraa, the vatta parai amman having an

independent flag post(dvaja stambham), pooja by malayalee nambuthris by

adisankaracarya, sung by vallalar, samadi of pattinathar nearby. The

thirumullaivoyil temple has two pillars of white arukku, nandi facing

outside, sp. darsans on each cataya nakshatram.

Three Ammans

Dear all

I have heard that there are three famous temples within the vicinity of

Chennai. One is Vadivudaiamman in Thiruvattiyur(north of Madras) . The

second is Kodivudai amman in Thirumullaivayil.( north west of madras) Can

anyone tell me where the third Amman is? These three represent the iccha

shakthi gnana shakthi and kriya shakthi swarroopams of Lalithaparameshwari.

I also understand that in a particular month’s krishna paksha panchami day,

having the darshan of all three ammans is suppose to be very auspicious and

wish fulfilling. Can anyone mention the correct day and in which month this

falls?
