vaahanam - Lion or Tiger

There was question on this sometime back.

 

ambaaL's vaahanam is Lion. devii bhaagavatam -- book V says that

himaalaya-s gave Lion to HER. In Advaita-L, long ago Anand asked what

is the name of this Lion (typically other vaahanas have names such as,

nandi, garuDa, etc). AFAIK, devii bhaagavatam does not mention a name.

 

Some pictures showing ambaaL riding on a Tiger is probably an influence

of some bengali tradition (This is my guess). It may not have a real

basis.
