thiruchchiRRambalam

Meaning:

As seven note music, as the fruit of the music,

as the sweet nectar, as my companion, standing

by me in the offences committed, governing me

giving the split tender-mango like beautiful eyed

paravai, leaving that my God of ArUr, how am I,

stupid wretch, living ?

Notes:

1. This song is an outpour of the love and the

desperation caused by the staying away from his

beloved deity God at thiruvArUr. cundharar promised

cangiliyAr that he will not leave the thiruvoRRiyUr

area as a pre-condition for marrying her. But still

he was unable to forget the Lord of thiruvArUr,

especially given that the "vasantha viza" at the

temple

was about to start, and he poured out his emotions

in this padhikam.

2. Ezicai - sa ri ga ma pa da ni; turicu - wrongdoing;

mAzai oN kaN - eye like the half-cut mAvaDu

(tender-mango).
