A Warning:

The Sanskrit text of the Devi Gita that I am typing might have typos so please

don’t recite it used read. If any one of you want the Sanskrit text then just

email me and If I have the time I will scan and email.

I have divided chapters up, I have a lot of assignments and currently schoolwork

is first priority please forgive the procrastination. There some really nice and

wise people in this group like the person who got the indrakshi stotram for me.

This is a dedication to all those wise people about 99% (the other one includes

myself).

Lest us begin:

OM Sri Ganeshaya Namaha

OM Sri Sada Shivaya Namaha

OM Sri Maha Lakhsmayai Namaha

OM Sri Maha Saraswatye Namaha

Om Sri Maha Kalikaye Namaha

Om Sri Guruve Namaha

Chapter 1

Janamejaya uvacha

(janamejaya spoke)

gauri lakshmi sarasvatyo dattaah purvam paraambayaa

Gauri, Lakshmi and Saraswati in the beginning(reference to the ancient times

prior yugas) were given by the almighty or superior ambaa (supreme mother, the

supreme divinity personified as female)

haraaya haraye tadvannabhipadmodbhavaaya cha tusaradresch daksasya gauri kanyeti

visrutam

to the one who takes/relieves (attribute of shiva), to the one who is glorified

(attribute to visnu) and to the one who sits on the lotus coming from Hari’s

navel (bhrama). I have heard that Gauri was the daughter of Himalaya (mountain

but in Hinduism is also a king the personification or a deity like form of the

mountain) and to Daksha ( in the ancient kingdom was a powerful ruler)

cchirodhadescha kanyeti maha lakshmiriti smrutam muladevyudbhavaanaam ca katham

kanyatvamanyayoh

I also remember the Great Lakshmi as the daughter of the great ocean of milk (

in relation to a divine dimension and also a level of consciousness quite

ambiguous to what context this may be in) If they had all emerged from the

goddess how could they have become the daughters of others ( basically this is

what I think, you see you have the supreme goddess and she can be metaphorically

represented has white light once split you attain seven rays of different

colours I guess this is dividing the goddess into three extremities)

Asambhaavyamidam bhaati samshayotra mahaamune cchindi jnyaanaasinaa tam tvam

samshayacchedatatparah

This seems to be impossible, illuminate my doubts, Oh great wise one, With your

sword of wisdom cut mu doubts.

Vyasa Uvacha

Vyasa spoke

Srunu raajan pravaksyaami rahasyam paramaadbhutam devibhaktasya te

kincidavaacyam na hi vidyate

Listen, oh king, as I mention the secret which is greatly/supremely marvellous.

There is nothing that may not be spoken for the knowledge of a devotee of the

goddess.

Well then I guess I would have only time to post five verses per day although

I will try posting one whole chapter on weekends, it is difficult to do this as

well as study physics anyways I am using two devi gitas and it seems there is no

conflict in the translation so I guess if anyone has something that is different

I would appreciate their input or any input whatsoever I believe I speak for

everyone or a lot people in saying that this very well might be an enlightening

discussion.
