Can you plz explain what do u mean by failure? That they are extinct? If so I would like to tell that it is not so. There are lots of kaulas still in India. You wrote "generally accepted". Accepted by whom? "Indologists"?
Guest guest
Namo Devyai ! It is very difficult to group Samayins, Vamacharins, and Kaulas, on the basis of the authority of any particualr tantra. Vamacharins are more exactly Uttara Kaulas. It is also not true that Kula refers to some small group of people. All Tantriks existing today are kaulas. There is no doubt about it, since worship of goddess or shakti is worship of kula. Kula refers to the path of kundalini from moolaadhara upto Sahasrara. All those who tread this path are Kaulas. Reaching Sahasrara earns the status of Akulatva. Be it kali krama, Tara Krama or Sundari krama, all these refer to kula worship only. One may read shlokas regarding kula and akula in the phala shruti of lalita sahasranama and also refer to names like 'akulaa' etc. Also kula refers to shakti and Akula to shiva according to some tantras. Even then, Kula can never be meant to refer to a small group or a cult. Pure Samayachara is possible is possible only by sadhakas of very high calibre. Others have to tread the path of Kulachara as prescribed by the kalpasutras, mahanirvana and other authorities. , L Vaidyanathan <vyagrapurielvi> wrote: > I agree with Satish.
