Guest guest
I have some for you, they come from my kali puja book, this really old book I have that has a lot of esoteric mantras of mother kali: mahakale vidmahe shamshana vaasini dhimahi tanno kali prochodayaAt kaatyaayanaaye vidmahe kanyakumari dhimahi tanno dugra prachodayaAt rakta paani vidmahe maha pishchini dhimahi tanno sumukhi prachodayaAt krim vidmahe kleem dhimahe tanno kalika prachodayat hram hrim hram kalikaye vidmahe shatrun ucchataya dhimahi tanno kalika prachodayat bhur bhuwah swah tat savitur vareenyam bhargo devasya dhimahi dhiyoyo nah prachodayat maha siddhyani vidmahe maha shiva bhakte dhimahi tanno parvati prachodayat himalaya putri vidmahe shive shakti dhimahi tanno parvati prachodayat neelasarawati vidmahe siddhilaye dhimahi tanno tara prachodayat these are just a few of hundreds that this book has some dont follow the format like: dhyayati ugrayani krim pratyaksham bhramanamasi........... and continues like that, I think it is a dhyana shloka, anyways according to most tantric texts such gayatris are to be said during sunset and sun rise, before japa and during a fire sacrifice. they are like dhyana mantras and should be accompanied by a vidya mantra. as the maha nirvana tantra says "there are millions of mantras of thy praise" so one can just continue. Guest guest
Dear Kalika Putra, Very kind of you to have written the dEvata gAyathri for KALi. It would be more appropriate if you avoided the mistakes - spelling as well as the aksharas. Guest guest
This is Kali Gayatri I presume (I missed the previous posting to which He replied). I found a few mistalkes in tranliteration of the Sanskrit phonetic sounds into english. If Kalika Putra agrees, and with Divine Mother's grace, I will attempt corrections. I await His approval (which I am sure signifies Mother's approval also!). Guest guest
Dear friends, No problem for me. I would suggest that devotees who would like to take up any serious spiritual sadhana especially with some desire for reward (most of the sadhanas include a sankalpam which has lot of desires spelt out), should get the best authentic correct version in Devanagari or one of the indian languages with which they are familiar, so that they don't mispronounce. English I may add is a very poor vehicle to convey all the phonetic sounds. There is however, ITRANS, a way of transliterating Sanskrit text into English which I found is quite faithful to the original. Sanskrit slokas which are in ITRANS are relatively safe.
