Guest guest
namaskaram members, when i read about the tantric pooja i thought i should write this about the bagawathy temple poojas. In kerala all the bagawathy temple there is no vigraham only one siva lingam type vigraham and silver kavacham of devi with big face upto the the waist length and so many garlands are put one longer than the other and cover till down and we cannot bring garland from out side we have to buy mala tickets from them which is only minimal and keep in front of mala making people and they will place in front of devi and say to us the mala has been kept that much sudham is maintained.and no flowers with smell like jasmine. our adimakavu is pallasena meenkulathu bagawathy in pallasena in kollangode district in kerala state in all the kerala bagawathy temple only tantric pooja is done by nambhothiries and the pujari is called embrandhiri. these poojas are worth seeing they will not say any mantra loudly[as it is done in tamil nadu amman temples] only their hands will move from head to toe of devi and there will be pin drop silent inside the temple and no one will dare to talk any kind of talk while these poojas are going on and even if some one talks the assistant will come and say not to talk. that pin drop silence make the whole surroundingsso divine as if devi comes and stands in front of us and no kind of impurities are allowed inside the temple and if anyone brings small infant children they will be told to take the baby out as fast as possible and noone should touch the embrandhiries and if some one does by mistake he will go directly to the temple tank take a dip and come to do the pooja. When the door closes for naivedyam it will be very silent out side and the assistant will play odukku only that sound can be heard. In some bagawathi temple there will be velichapdu that is bagawathi elakkam. In our adimakavu temple only we can keep the padipanam that is keeping money in the footsteps that is show that we the adima [slave] of that bagawathy. we do that whenever we go to that temple.for what ever mistake i have written oh amme devi forgive me m.s.iyer
