Meditate on Her who abides in the Vindhya(Mountains). She is seated on a golden lotus and has three eyes. She is lustrous like lightning and has in two of Her hands a Shanka(Conch) and a Chakra( Discus) and the other two are in the attitude of granting boons and dispelling fear. Her face is beautiful as the full moon and on Her forehead is the crescent moon. Neckchains, armlets, Garlands and ear- rings adorn Her. The devas hymn Her. By Her side is Shiva. VanaDurga seems to be the same as Kollur Mookaambika. The beauty of this particular Dhyana seems to be the presence of SadaShiva. Durga accompanied Parameshvara(Lord Shiva) as VanaDurga, when Shiva went in the guise of a tribal to grant boons to Arjuna(of Mahabharatha). 6)The follwong dhyana should be used when seeking the protection of Durga. kAlapAvakasannibhAM kalitArdhacandrashiroruhAM bhAlanetravibhUShaNAM bhayadAyisiMhaniSheduShIm.h. cakra shaN^ka kR^ipANa kheTaka cApa bANa karoTikA shUlavAhibhujAM bhaje vijitAkhilAsurasainikAm.h.. She is like the fire of final dissolution(kAla pAvaka). In Her hair is the half-moon. She has an eye on Her forehead. She is seated on a fear inspiring lion. In Her eight hands are the Chakra, Shanka, Kripana(Sword), Khetaka(Shield), Chapa, Bana, Karotika(Skull) and a Shula (Trident). She subdued the whole army of the asuras.
