Meru /Srichakra is central in Srividya. >what is the objective from this sadhana. I mean most sadhanas I know >of either give the sadhaka the darshan of devi and a boon, the >opeining of the kundalini and many other things. The objective is moxa, Srividya helps such seekers of moxa by granting chitta shuddhi i.e purification of the mind. > >How long is this sadhana and what is the fruit from it, Pleas see above. Like any other mantra sadhana the time period depends on the seeker. > >When lord shiva finished tapasa of this the goddess came from the >bindu as soon as this lord shiva transformed himself into kameshwara >and united with mother. I would think through this that the worship >of the sri chakra transforms the ahamkaric atman to shiva atman thus >coming into unison with devi. Am I correct in this interpretation? As said above the goal of most Srividya upasakas is moxa. > >And why is samayachara practiced with sri chakra worship? In Srividya there is Samayachara and Kaulachara. Srividya is taught by different teachers like Dakshinamurti(Shiva), Hayagriva, Ananda Bhairava, and Dattatreya. The form of Srividya taught by AnandaBhairava i.e AnandaBhairava Sampradaya is kaula in its outlook, I was told. So do some upasakas describe themselves as Dattatreya Kaula Sampradaya. Plz refer to any standard book on Srividya or you can search the archives of this list with keyword "Srividya" or "shrividya". regards __________ Get 250 full-color business cards FREE right now! http://businesscards.lycos.com
Guest guest
Dear Sir, I sincerly thank your help in this matter, but let me add. The kaula is confused by two things. Kulachara and kaula aka atharvana kaula. Kulachara is what the kularnava tantra and bhairava tantra define it to be, a process of opening the kundalini that encompasses alot of tantric rites. It is neither samachara or vamachara. It depends on what class you are aspiring for the divya, veera or pashu and it then creates an infusion of both rituals to gain the optimum effect. Kulachara is not very ritualistic only fools think so, like for example the homa is done inside the agni being the bhuta agni and the offerings being the mantra japa. Jatha agni goes down and sure most kaulas become constipated because of this but that is another story. Kaula is a state of mind, it is when you sacrifice moksha to go higher, that is then a true kaula one who is beyond the kundalini and then aspires to become devi not attain devi. This is known as atharvana kaula one who exceeds the limatations on atharva veda the authority of both vedanta and tantra. The kaula mantra gets transmutated from kleem, to krim to tut, then aum then hum. If you realise this, you are a kaula. If you aspire to be a kaula then too you will be called a kaula but not a atharvana kaula, this is when lord shiva the adi natha performs the shakti abhisheka on the atman, allowing amrita to be secreted from the genitilia and petuitary.
