Namaste friends,

Lord Shiva is believed to have taken 64 sporting

forms also called leela vigrahas. One amongest them is the ligodbhava

form where the Lord is depicted as emerging from a huge Lingam.I

would like to know more about this form of the Lord. It is also said

that this is the reson for celebrating the Kartikai deepam festival.

I also want to know if this form of the Lord has been sung by tamil

shaivite saints, with the songs.

Regards,

Vikram Srinivas
