Pranam Respected Members,

I was wondering about the significance of the three notes used in

Vedic Chanting: Komal Ni (flatted 7th), Sa (tonic), and Komal Re

(flatted 2nd).

I suspect these notes may have something to do with the three gunas,

but I am not sure.

Also, is there a set pattern for using these notes when chanting

shlokas in the anushtup chandah, or does it depend from hymn to hymn

and/or tradition to tradition?

Any information regarding this topic will be helpful. Many thanks for

your attention.
