thank you! thank you! what a woonderful explanation!

yes , bali can be intrepreted to mean many things -

but bali can also mean bali of one's 'ahankar' or ego or i -sense!

not necessarily animal or other sacrifices, right?

devi wants our total surrenderand total devotion...

yes, in LS devi is also referred to as kamabija -the 'klim' - the

bija mantra of our krishna

in fact in tantrajasara it is said sree lalita is krishna paramatma!

on another note, devi likes all types of offerings, fruits, flowers,

curd, honety, rice with saffron, rice with turmeric, payasam, and of

course nn-vegetarian also! in kerala, bhagavthy ammn is offered

chicken and rice!

devi is gunatita -she is beyond gunas - tamas, rajas and sattwic!

the key point is to offer anything and everything with love and

devotion!

vijayaji, thank you so much- i am learning so much from you! plesae

keep enlightening an ignorant fool like me! \

om sree sree lalithambikayaii namaha!

alternate Meanings of Namavali "BALIPRIYA" .

> 1. Devi likes a person with strength (Ballam) and one may ask what

type of strength.the strength being the ability to recognise and

conquer "AVIDHYA" and such persons is called as DHEERA .

> 2. Any person who is able to control and conquer with strength the

negative emotions like Kamam ,Krodham,Lopam,Madham,Moham,Mathsaryam

and to such a person the Lalitha Parameshwari is very pleased with. --

Balipriya

> 3. This also means ,as In vamana Avathara ,the Maha Vishnu when He

was compassionate with Bali Chakravarthy and blessed him.

(Balipriya) . One may wonder why i am refering to Maha Vishnu in

Lalith Sahasranama. this is relevant because Lalitha ParaBhattarika

is none other than Maha Vishnu and there is no betham. if one sees

the Bhasyam of Namavali such as Govindarupini -- Devi in the form of

maha vishnu , Gopthri -- the operator or the maintenance of the

universe who is Devi as Maha Vishnu, As in Narayini -- the shakti

related to Narayanan or Mahavishnu, in order to distribute the Amruta

to Devas vishnu took the form of a beautiful Mohini with the grace of

Devi ( See Soundarya Lahari -- Haristwamaradya ) therefore vishnu is

also Devi, also refer Narayini Sthuthi in Durga Sapthasathi, Vishnu

Maya in Saptha sathi, mukndaa ( L.S ) also Mundaha in Vishnu

Sahasranama -- Mukunda NAME is one of the names of Mahavishnu and

this namavali also means MUKUHU --moksha -- Devi Or Vishnu who grants

Moksha To the Bhakta as per the respective Sahasranama, vaishnavi --

The energy of vishnu, Vishnurupini -- who is in form of Mahalaksmi --

if one notices is Devi purana it is described as Devi who in the form

of Vishnu holding Shanku,Chakra,Gatha etc.also refer to

PanchaBhuththesi (L S ) -- the eshwari to pancha butha which is same

as in Mahavishnu's Vaijanthimala , he is referred to as in the form

of panchabutha. So next time when you meet a paramabhakta of

Mahavihnu, pl recognise him as a Devi Upasaka.

> 4. Devi who is in forefront to receive any offering given by a

devotee with parama bhakthi , whether it is a vegetarian or a non-

vegetarian, during a puja or YAGNA .
