Guest guest
dear Ravi, Pl also consider Devi Mahatmeeyam , Abhirami Andadhi , Mooka Panchadashi And other works of Adi Sankara on DEVI for purposes of the list to focus. regards ganapathy ravi <ravi wrote:Dear Members: It is preferred that subject matter of is restricted to devotional works and related topics on shiva dampati (shrii shivaa and Lord shiva). Guest guest
Yes. They are all included. What I was trying to communicate was this. When I say ambaaL - the first natural question is "who is ambaaL?" ambaa means mother. To answer that more specifically, I mention, "by ambaa we mean the deity described in saundaryalaharI, lalitaa trishatii and lalitaa sahasranAma." That way it is clear to others what we understand by the term "ambaa". The sahasranAma with its wide ranging definititions indeed gives us a very great scope. We also include all devotional works on mahaalaxmii and sarasvatii. In that sense we are pretty inclusive when it comes to devii. ----------- Essentially, we exclude direct works on devata-s such as, nArAyaNa/vishhNu, suuryaa, varuNa, etc. This is to keep the list focus. As smArta-s most of us worship all of these devata-s on a *daily* basis. Hence, this exclusion in this list is not based on fanaticism, but to maintain focus. -- Ravi Ganapathy -- Vijaya [vijaya_ganapathy] Monday, December 16, 2002 11:31 AM Re: List Focus dear Ravi, Pl also consider Devi Mahatmeeyam , Abhirami Andadhi , Mooka Panchadashi And other works of Adi Sankara on DEVI for purposes of the list to focus. regards ganapathy ravi <ravi wrote:Dear Members: It is preferred that subject matter of is restricted to devotional works and related topics on shiva dampati (shrii shivaa and Lord shiva).
