Samskrita Sangha is a cultural body of the students, staff and faculty of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The Sangha, which has been an active body for more than two decades, aims at promoting a better understanding and awareness of Indian Culture and Heritage. The main activities of the Sangha are in the following three areas: 1. Samskrit Language and Literature. 2. Indian contributions to Science and Technology. 3. Indian Culture and Traditions. The Sangha conducts talks and lectures by eminent scholars and professionals, symposia, spoken Samskrit workshops, literary competitions and cultural programmes. The best entries of the annual essay writing competition are published along with other invited articles in the Sangha's annual magazine. The Sangha also undertakes projects relating to Indian Culture and Heritage. Every year the Sangha brings out a magazine SAMSKRITI. The Sangha has brought out in book form, a lecture titled Reconstruction of India according to Swami Vivekananda delivered in the Institute by Swami Harshanandaji. The Sangha has also undertaken the work of translation of a Samskrit book on ancient architecture, Shilpa Ratnam, which is of interest to a group of Dutch engineers and architects, into English. Keeping up with the tradition, Samskrita Sangha intends to bring out the magazine this year as well. We, the members of Samskrit Sangha deem it appropriate to have your invaluable contribution in the form of article on the various aspects of Sri Vidya Upasana, the science and mathematics of Sri Chakra, review of the commentaries of Lalita Trishati and Lalita Sahasranama etc for this year's issue of Samskriti. The topics suggested above are not obviously exhaustive.It would be nice if you can send in you paper latest by 10 Jan 2003. Please send in your acceptance to contribute an article before 25.12.2002.
