Being in the very holy form, you asked this way now (today)! Where are are you from ? Who are you ? Say that", thus he said. Notes: 1. An episode from the life of appUdhi aDikal nAyanAr. While appUdhi aDikaL had profound devotion towards appar to name his sons, home, charity and everything as thirun^Avukkaracu, the humble most saint appar went and asked him, "Why you wrote 'some other name' instead of your name ?" That was it ! The devotion appUdhi aDikaL had for appar bursted out as a volcano to shout at the sage at the lobby, "You are saying the name of the great appar as 'some other name' ! Who are you and where on earth are you from ?!" He did not know that he was in fact shouting at the very same appar, whom he adores the most. But can there be more praise than this scolding for appar ? However that great saint is not the one taking pride on hearing the impact of his fame on people. He humbly said, "I am the one who slipped into the wrong paths, but retuned back to shaivam by the Grace of God." They are the devotees we revere as great ! 2. midhappu - float (boat); buvanam - world; iyambum - tell. ===== --------------------------- Visit Shaivism Home Page at http://www.shaivam.org --------------------------- Mail Plus - Powerful.
