Meaning:

On hearing the words (blessed), pulling out the

dagger,

thinking "I am gifted to do this", cut from up the

bottom the thick dark (beautiful) hair of the floral

creeper like girl and tendered at the floral hands of

the One, Who cuts off the birth that is made up of

darkness. Then...

 

Notes:

1. mAnakkanychARar's patronage for devotees is praised

in this song. The tradition accords high value to the

hair of the girls. Cutting the hair of the young

daughter that too at the marriage hall was an extreme
