Meaning:

The people of cool characteristics (kind hearted) -

the chanters of six parts (of vedas) and the vedas,

worshipping Feet everyday, the Only One dwelling in

marugal decorated with the galleried streets on which

the cloudy moon crawls, tell this, "Why did You desire

for the gaNapathIccaram abode dancing holding up the

dark-lucid-fire at the characteristic ceN^kATTaN^kuDi

rich with kayal fish playing waters ?"

 

Notes:

1. While worshipping at the thirumarugal abode the

prodigy remembered the Form of God at

thirucceN^kATTaN^kuDi. He sang this padhikam hailing

the beauty of these two abodes.

2. an^gam - six vEdhAN^gam; maN^gul - cloud; main^dhan

- one person for the whole family (used to refer to

single son in a family) By this camban^dhar indicates

the fact that God is the only one to look up for by

the pashus; punal - water; malgu - nourishing; kaN^gul

viLaN^geri - darkness embedded fire (as the flame

would have a dark blue inner core).
