Guest guest
Om Shreee Maaatre Namah Time-period from Sunrise to Sunset divide by 8. There is no Rahukalam in the first period. Day Period Monday 2 Tuesday 7 Wednesday 5 Thursday 6 Friday 4 Saturday 3 Sunday 8 Consider the uniform sunrise time as 6:00a.m.and sunset as 6:00 p.m. The Rahu Kalam will be of hour and a half duration for every day. In the figure below, count from Rahu Kalam as 1st period, Monday 2nd period, Saturday 3rd period, Friday 4th period, Wednesday 5th period, Thursday 6th period, Tuesday 7th period and Sunday 8th period. Thus, there is no Rahu Kalam in the first period of any day of the week. Sun rise 6:00 AM/Sun set 6:00 PM Day Rahu Kalam Monday 7:30 to 9:00 Tuesday 15:00 to 16:30 Wednesday 12:00 to 13:30 Thursday 13:30 to 15:00 Friday 10:30 to 12:00 Saturday 9:00 to 10:30 Sunday 16:30 to 18:00 a good site (no affiliation of mine) to refer to: http://www.cyberastro.com/partners/skcl/muharat.2.asp Jai Maa prem - Ravi <miinalochanii Tuesday, January 14, 2003 6:38 AM Re: Raahu Kalam puja (10:30-12:00pm) Radhikaji: 1. Rahu is pleased by worship of durga. This is one of the reasons for people having problems with rAhu is asked to worship ambaa. According to some, more people are by default afflicted by raahu than any other of the nava graha-s. 2. Timing of rAhu kaalam depends on your geographical location. It is not standard such as 10:30 to 12:00 etc. It is computed based on the duration of the day (sun rise to sun set). If you search the web you will get many references on how to do this for your location. For instance in New York, this friday rAhu kaalam is from 10:55 to 12:06. The changes will be drastic when you go to higher latitudes (as the duration of day changes throught the year). Only if you are living with 15 or 20 degreess from equator, this 10:30 to 12:00 ok. Even there, you will have few minutes this way or that way. 3. Ambaa-L is a devotional forum and our interest is understanding devotional works on shiva dampati. Beyond a point, you will get not help on this matter. 4. What you should do? a) Call your family elders and discuss with them. b) Use their reference for a priest and trusted astrologer and work out a remedy. c) If your husband, father or son is initiated to upanayana, then ask them to do sandhya vandanam regularly. There is an element called "navagraha keshavaadi tarpaNam", that should take care of many things. This is not my view and it is a view of kAnchi paramAcharya. d) Go to your local temple and ask them to do navagraha homam. 5) If you search the web, you will also learn more.
