Guest guest
Pradosh occurs on the 13 th day after every ammavasya or pournima on THRIO DASHI . The Pradosh Punya Kala is 45 minutes before sunset on this day and it is believed that LORD " PARAMESHWARA" does the ANANDA THANDAVAM ( COSMIC DANCE ) during this peiod and to witness this dance all the shiva ganas including the Devi, Ganesha,And Subramanya are ever present on this occasion. While lord Shiva does Rudra Thandavam and other types also, this particular Ananda Thandavam is very beneficial to remove the "PAKSHA DOSHA" ( all the sins committed before 15 days and hence the word pradosha) of all devotees going and praying in the shiva temple on the pradosha punya kala. my grand mother use to say that going to Shiva temple on pradosh , particularly lessens and lightens the problems due to bad Karama. generally in shiva temples in south india there is flurry of activity comprising of Abhishekam archana, aradhana etc from 3;30 onwards to Lord Shiva in lingam form and also to Nandikshwar. Sani pradosh and Soma Pradosh are a rarity and out of the both , to witness sani pradosh is equivalent to the benefits of one full year pradosh dharshan. ganapathy -- vijaya arun naik <arun_k_naik wrote: Dear Group, What is Pradosh?
