ADI shankryacharya, after defeating Budhhist Monks and fanatic Hindu

priests goes to Kashmir to defeat Shkatas, the devotees of THE

DIVINE Mother . A day before ADI Shankaracharya gets INDISPOSED and

is WEAK AND IS BED RIDDEN.

 

His disciples wait outside, worried how Acharaya will go for

spiritual discussion. ADI Shankracharya , IS CONCERNED TOO ! HE

thinks how can iI take part in these spiritual discussion as i am so

sick?

 

Meanwhile He sees a young girl of 10/12 years entering his room and

asking,"what is wrong? are not you going to get up and leave to take

part in the spiritua' discussions with shakta acharyas? "

 

Shankara bhagvatpada replied rather feebly, " i am sick and i have no

strenth (shakti) even to lift a straw.

 

The girl smilingly replies, " Shakti ?" what is shakti?"

 

"Yes" adi shankara " Everyone is empowered with shakti ! how can you

do anything without shakti ? we all need shakti to work, to move , to

speak and carry on in life."

 

now, the young girl was even more amused...

 

She raises her eyebrows and asks, " this shakti that you speK OF IS

DIFFERENT from you? please tell me."

 

"No ! This my shakti, my working force of manifestation, it is not

different from me. It is my sankalpa which produces this shakti in me"

replies adi shankara.

 

" Wonderful!well, all ordinary mortals has a shakti. Similarly .

Sadashiva also has a shakti which looks different but is an integral

part of him." answers the young girl.

 

adi Shankrayacharya was taken aback and answered rather meekly, "

but, i am preaching advaita . wILL IT NOT BE A CONTRADICTION if i

accept shakti?"

 

" NO, not att all the philosophy of advaita is great and there will

be no inconsistency if you accept Shakti. Shakti is not different

from shiva. Whebn shiva is inactive he is Purusha when he becomes

active he is called Shakti." replied the young girl.

 

adi Shankryacharya was moved to tears.

 

He asked," may i ask who you arem, Kumari?"

 

"I am that Shakti. I know my devotees here will not be able to

contradict your powerful logic, hence I came myself to tell you the

Truth"- answered the young girl.

 

Shankrac bhagvadapada immediately touched the lotus feet of the

young girl and asked for her blessings....

 

it is believed that adi shankara went on to compose the Bhavani

stotra after this divine episode...

PROSPERITY ON THEM. ADORNED BY ALL CELESTIALS, SHE IS THE VERY

EMBODIMENT OF ***SRI VIDYA*** and tranquility.
