Such stories are baseless

Anyone can write their own if they want and just feel happy about it.

Does it appear in any of the Shankara Vijayams?

The story is just an outcome of various sampradayas trying to

associate themselves with Shankaracharya so that they score a point

over other traditions.

Didnt Shankaracharya compose Kanakadhara while he is still a child

in Kerala? That shows that there is no truth in the story that he is

never devoted to Parameshvari until he reached Kashmir?
