22. suvarNakuMbhayugmaabhasukuchaayai namo namaH

Salutations to Her whose breasts appear/shine like a

pair of golden pots(kuMbha).

Sahasranama adores kuca-dvandva with different poetic

metaphors while Trishati adores Her

as "kaThinastanamaNDalA"(147)

LS has "kAmeshvara premaratna mani pratipana stanI"(13)

and "nAbhyAlavAla romAlilatAphala kucadvayI"(14)

Numbers in brackets are the numbers of the

names in the stotras.

Can somebody discuss relevant shlokas from

Saundaryalahari?

In reply to other posts: There are no restrictions on

reciting the names(nAma smaraNa) of Devi. Anyone can,

and at any time.

namaste,

kvaNat kAnchI dAmA karikalabha kumbha stana natAM,

.....

Shloka 7 describes them as the bulge like the frontal lobes of the

forehead of a young elephant

mukhaM binduM kritvA kuchayugalamadhastasya tadadho,

......

Shloka 19 describes certain meditations to focus on Devi's body to

make one extremely attractive to women.

The glory of the Mother's breasts are described in 72-73

samam devi skanda dvipa vadana pItam stana yugam

tavedam naH khedam haratu satatam prasnuta mukam.h

yadAlokyA shankAkulita hr^idayo hAsajanakaH

svakumbhau herambaH parimR^ishati hastena jhaditi ||

Shloka 72

O Mother! May we be relieved of all our sorrows by thy breasts, from

which milk is flowing always and which are being simulteneously

sucked by both skanda and gaNesha, Thy sons. All of a sudden

gaNesha, looking at Thy breasts, feels with his hands whether the

pair of frontal globes on his elephant face are there in their

proper places (or whether they have dissappeared to become Thy

breats), thus giving occassion for great fun (to his parents and

onlookers).

amU te vakshojA- vamR^itarasa mANikya kutupau

na samdeha spando nagapati patAke manasi naH

pibantau tau yasmAd avidita vadhU sanga rasikau

kumArAvadyApi dvirada-vadan krauncha dalanau

Shloka 73

O the Mountain-king's flag of victory! We have not even the shadow

of a doubt about Thy two breasts being jars of mANikya (ruby) and

filled with amR^ita, the immortal drink. For, it is by drinking

their contents that Thy two sons, the mountain-piercing kumAra and

the elephant-headed vinAyaka, have remained young boys (celibates)

without knowing woman to this day.
