Dear Members,

Thanks for the recent guidelines and the clarification

on LT-LS etc from our group.

In line with the subject, I have few more doubts now.

1. I by-hearted some portion of the Devi Mahatmyam

pertaining to the praises of Mother (as told by

Rishi/Devas etc) and I chant them daily in the morning

& evening with Pushpa Archana in most simple form as a

devotee. My father (late) had given me the opprtunity

right from the age of 9-10 to read specified chapters

on each day even before my upanayanam. This had

brought me closer to Mother due to which I had

inspiration to do what I am doing now, though I have

no Guru other than Godess Mother.

2. I also chant Sri Suktham , Adityahrudayam.

3. I chant 5 times both in the morning & evening "Om

Sreem Hreem Sreem Mahalaxmai Sreem Hreem Sreem Namah"

and offer flowers on the Prismatic Sri Yantram kept in

the Puja peedam.

I think Mother only had inspired me to worship her in

the simple mode & methods mentioned above due to my

selfless and egoless devotion. But being a humble

devotee I feel that I should not err and displese the

Mother. Hence I seek proper guidence even to find out

a guru. Once I had asked one learned person how to get

a guru. The answer was that Guru knows when to call

you and give you Upadesa and hence wait for His call.

Now I am confused, as the time is running out faster

than the time avilable for worship.

Seeking the blessings from all learned ones & Her

deciples

dear devi upasaka,

you state...

This had

brought me closer to Mother due to which I had

inspiration to do what I am doing now, though I have

no Guru other than Goddess Mother.

This is wonderful. You say you have no Guru other than Goddess

Mother.

Devi herself is described as

Sri Gurumurtih

— Of the Form of Guru.

Who Leads devotee to Highest state of Liberation.

Sri Lalita Sahasranama

All of us who worship the divine mother goddess are indeed very

blessed .It is said to even hear the name of Ambaa-l (Sree lalita

parameshweri) in this birth one must have done lot of 'punya' in the

previous births. so we are all on the right track when we are taking

refuge at the lotus feet of the divine mother Goddees.

you go on to write...

I think Mother only had inspired me to worship her in

the simple mode & methods mentioned above due to my

selfless and egoless devotion. But being a humble

devotee I feel that I should not err and displese the

Mother.

THE divine mother recognizes a true and a sincere devotee. Mother is

ver easy to please. She is stotra priya . If you sing her praises

(her glories ) with sincerity, she is easily pleased. All one needs

is yearning and longing to have the vision of the goddess. and she

will 'appear'

So, in reality you are doing everything that pleases devi.

1) her worship

2) chanting

3) pushpa archana

and all these are accompanied by bhakti bhava, is not it?

as per a verse in adi shankara's saundarya lahari,

Japo jalpah silpam sakalam api mudra-viracana

Gatih pradaksinya-kramanam asanady'ahuti-vidhih;

Pranamah samvesah sukham akilam atmarpana-drsa

Saparya-paryayas tava bhavatu yan me vilasitam.

May everything that I do with the sense of self-dedication be items

in Thy service --- my prattle, the utterance of Thy Mantra; the

movements of my hand, the gestures and poses of Thy worship; my

walking, Thy circumambulation; my eating, fire-sacrifice to Thee; the

stretching of the body in sleep and rest, prostrations to Thee; and

all my enjoyments, offerings made to Thee.

and Vedanta indicates the four stages in realization of the Divine

are Saalokya (perception of the Divine), Saameepya (proximity to the

Divine), Saaroopya (experiencing the vision of the Divine) and

Saayujya (merger in the Divine).

so, dear one - sree lalita devi will herself appear in 'guru' form

one of these days!

Acharys devo bhava!

guru is god/ess

i am sure other more knowledgeble members will answer your questions

on Guru more appropriately.

my 2 cents...

aum sree laithambikayaii namaha!
