Chanting of Mantras

Moola mantras are to be chanted only by those initiated by gurus who have

themselves attained siddis in that mantra. Those you see in TV is all wron

in my opinion. But that is the state of affairs in today's world. Mantra

sastra is a highly secret issue. When a sishya goes to to the guru and ask

his for mantra upedesa the guru will normally take time to see if he is

evolved to receive that mantra and then only initiate him. But nowadays it

looks like there are too many gurus and too many sishys. I am sure you will

know tha Adi Sankara went all the way from Kalady in Kerala to Omkareswar on

the banks of the Narmada 1000's of miles away to get his formal initiation

to sanyasa from Govindapada.
