Guest guest
Shree Premjee wrote,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, maybe sometime in the future when you have the time if you could please post on the bare minimum requirement for a householder involved in Sri Vidya sadhana... thanx The question could have been easier if Premjee had only said a householder not involved in Srividya Sadhana. Since Sri Vidya is included, as such, I am incompetent to answer on my own but quote whatever our Masters have said. As per Pujya Smt . Rajam Mami an authority on Sri Vidya, has indicated what should be the daily routine of a person involved in Sri Vidya Sadhana. Pujya Mami herself is a householder having a daily routine apart from guiding thousands of sishyas throughout the world. So these great Guru's activities should motivate us in our daily Sadhana assuming that we are hard pressed for time. To quote H.H Swamy Chinmyayajee on the subject -- " Spirituality is a full time business". THE DAILY ROUTINE for a SRIVIDYA SADHAK : A very exacting daily routine is prescribed for the sincere and committed Sri Vidya Upasaka, covering all activities from the time of waking up early in the morning until retiring to bed at night. Their purpose is to make the Sadhak constantly meditate on the Shiva - Shakthi swaroopa, even while engaged in other occupations. An appropriate example is that of a dancer, with several mud pots on her head, dancing without a flaw, without missing a step, to the music all the time, while concentrating on the mud pots that they do not fall down. The minimum routine prescribed for the upasaka include Dhayana of Guru, Praanayama, Divya Mangala Dhayana, Rasmi Maala, Ajapaa - Samarpanam , Ablutions, Sandhya Vandhana ( Vedic + Tantric ), different kinds of Paarayana such as Natha, Tattva, Thithinitya, Naama,Manthra Parayana Japa and conclude with PUJA like LS or Navavarana or Chandi paat. As regards Japa it should be noted that the manthra of each Denatha should be chanted only at the appropriate time -- Eg ; Sri Maha Ganapathy can be chanted only in the morning, that of Shyamala in the afternoon, that of Vaarahi in the night after sun set. For greater efficacy the Sadhak should try to keep in mind the meaning of the manthras and pronounce the letters in the manner explained in the Varivasya Rahasya of Sri Baskararaya. As regards puja can be done as Para or Apara or Para - Apara as explained in one of the earlier mail. WHY A MINIMUM DAILY ROUTINE PRESCRIBED IS SO MUCH . The individuality of a person is but the resultant of his feelings, emotions, ideasand thoughts in relation to the objective world which one has experienced in thousands of births and rebirths and which bend him down to the world of objects. This play is enacted for ever and ever and there is is no escape there from unless the person can extricate from this grip of darkness to free oneself from the karmic sheath one has acquired. When one by the grace of Devi takes refuge at the holy feet of Divine Mother -- one can get a knowledge - the Brahma Vidya through constant efforts of purifying the mind by religious works, penances, devotions as prescribed in the daily routine. It should be remembered that no sadhak's work and toil may go amiss. Such a trained mind takes another birth to further thoroughly train in spirituality till it is brought in harmony with the super senuous truths, before one can hope to be able to understand the true import that with which the metaphysical science deals. Sri Vidya Sadhana the Tantra categorically declares that all and each cannot hope to step into the precincts of Sri Vidya which is exclusively reserved for a person with an ultimate mission of MOKSHA -- realising oneself and one gets by Devi's grace when only a few births are left. This is the culmination of all paths, the consummation of all transformations. Indeed the all pervading form of DEVI functioning in the unimaginable cosmos, can only be directly perceived internally and for that the whole life is a sacrifice for wiping out one's own karmic personality and " I " am ness is dedicated and liquidated through all thoughts, deeds and speech to the Divine mother , who finally reveals HERSELF in the heart of the Sadahak -- when one directly perceives the truth of the Mahamthras of the Upanishads. As earlier said the reply could have been simpler Premjee -- Had you put a simple question a bare requirement for a householder omitting the word ' Sri Vidya Sadhana " For this we have to take the guidance from Maha Perivaal of Kanchi who in one of his great spiritual speech advises as under . (this information is from my very close Sri Vidya Upasakar Mr. Chandra Mouli living in this part of the globe but whose family has been directly associated with Shree Matam on a full time basis for thirteen generations without a break ). For the householders who are overwhelmed with the households, Perivaal advises that such persons should take time for at least ten minutes in a day, regularly at an appointed time , at the same place, which can be even a bedroom, if the person has only one room, should light a Lamp and sing Bhajans or recite whatever the shlokas one has learnt or if one is ignorant -- shout from his heart -- Rama - Krishna - Ambaa or Narayana for 10 minutes. For the one's who can sing it is not the talent or raga that matters but a desire to surrender to the supreme through a heart felt call which reaches the Divine Mother. Divine Mother is very pleased with such calls, which can be compared to a child of five years seeking refugee to the physical mother muttering something in the midst of its play and returning to the outside world of its own to play again. This happiness of physical mother is only a reflection of the Divine Mother and what is important is the PURE LOVE.
