This happiness of physical mother is only > a reflection of the Divine Mother and what is important is the PURE LOVE. > > One practical approach is to integrate God in the daily activities and contemplate on our utter dependence on HER. This can start in life sustaining activities such as eating food and drinking water, etc. Even though the verse, japo jalpaH in saundaryalaharI literally applies only to jivan mukta-s, one derive its corollory, try to remember God and make whatever we do as an offering or act of gratitude to God. For everything comes from HER and our dependence on HER for everything cannot be over-emphasized. This integration of life with HER and remembering HER can be done wherever one is. Even while attending a business meeting, no one expects us to talk while chewing food, it is indeed a good time for not only thanking God but also atoning for abhojyam. Ultimately when we remember HER with every intake of air and release of it, life itself will become a prayer. Another important aspect with respect to God is the beautiful advice given by abhirAmi bhaTTa: "maRukkum takaimaigaL cheyyinum naan unnai vaazhttuvanE*" [i will continue to praise and worship you even while, due to my ignorance, I indulge in prohibited acts]. This is more important because, many of us due to ignorance (anaadi avidya) and thorough blending with triguNas (as shrii ramaanuja says tila tailavat or daaruvantivat, like oil in sesame seed, and fire in firewood) we continue to err and act contrary to shaastra-s almost helplessly like an automaton. It is natural, in that state, out of fear or embarrasment, etc, shirk away from God. But the fact that we cannot run away or hide from omnipresent and realization that SHE is an ocean of mercy, should make us worship HER even while we sin. With time, we will reform. Patience and Faith is the key. Ravi * Verse veRukkum takaimaigaL ... from abhiraami antaadi. There is another verse in the same work, from the point of view of jnani-s, highlight a similar idea but as a prayer: toNDU cheyyaathu nin paadam thozhaathu ...
