Guest guest
[Moderator's note: Since the message was from A. Balaji and the reply was wrongly addressed, I changed the name Dear * to "Dear Devotee" ] Dear Devotee, I have read with interest your e-mail.Since I my self started learning vedic chanting Titreya upanishad since last may I will share my experience with you. 1.Locate a purohit who has the inclination to teach- you appear to be awilling student hence this first condition. 2. Chanting of Sanskrit Hymns is not difficult if you are able to spend 45 minutes to learn and another 45 minutes to revise the learnt lesson. 3. I presume you are coversant with the Devnagari Script.Particularly the help of a Good teacher is required if you are a novice. The required is in the form of learning and understanding " Sandhi " . i.e How a big combined word is split into its consitutents without loosing its original intended meaning- let me give an example - RAMUNITO KAPEESWARUDU - meaming RAMA AND KAPEESWARA, TO A MESS OF THE SAME IT IS LIKE THIS RAMUNITOKA -- PEESWARUDU - IN TELUGU THIS WILL MEAN RAMA'S TAIL (TOKA) WITH PEESWARUDU WITH NO MEANING. As long as you guard your self from such Howlers you will be safe. Try to understand the meaning of each word, if not get a book in bi lingual which gives you transliteration and translation . Best of luck. GTD. "M. S.
