The only thing that powers temples is the Bhakthas love for mother. Comments on the above observation. You are right but it has to be qualified. This could be only correct for a Realised Soul and for a realized soul -- is Devi himself or herself and there is no duality. Such persons obviously can not be many. But the real question is whether Have we have truly realized or whether we are mature enough for realization or Whether we are honest enough to admit that we are far from realization. Let us put it the other way – Do we have the True Bhaktha’s love for mother or whether we are attempting to be a Bhaktha of mother. In order to reach this state of “Bhaktha” all the rites, rituals including going to temple becomes extremely important and necessary – further to be followed very strictly. Therefore for the masses and majority Devi or other deity resides only in the temple (not in the hearts) as witnessed by the crowds in Tirupathi or any temple of the Ishta or kula daiva. -- When the person first experiences GOD when his prayers get answered. – And why all these are done - only to become a “TRUE BHAKTHA “ and to acquire through the rituals and rites the qualities of a bhaktha – one pointed ness of mind, discipline, non-attachment,humility,will power and morality – While I do not dispute the presence of these qualities to some extent in every individual, that alone would not qualify him for SELF REALISATION.
