Guest guest
Devi Mahatmyam Chanted by Shree Srivastsa Ramaswami sarma has two volumes -- recorded and sold by Sangeetha cassettes ( ref ECDB 7245 ) the set, if played continuously would go upto three hours. the chanting is very clear ( similar to the the voice of a good vedic pandit) , slow and the difficult verses are split appropriately to reveal the meaning, which would be useful for an enrty level learner of this great scripture. apart from this even mumbai sisters have chanted. It says " There is an euology og this hymn in the Laksmitantra. Laksmi tells Indra the wonderful results of chanting it." Can somebody please tell me the benefits. Also I would like to know where can I get the entire chant of The Devi Mahatmyam. I would like a 1.5 to 2 hour recording. Guest guest
OM Shree Maatre Namah 1. I have a beautiful 5 cassette set ( about 5hours) from T-Series chanted in Sanskrit then translated into Hindi by Pandit Som Nath Sharma. It is in line with the DurgaSaptshati book from GitaPress in Gorakhpur. The reference on the spines of the cassettes are: T Series: SNMC 3037, 3038, 3039, 3040, & 3041 for the 5 cassettes. Manufactured at Noida, UP by Super Cassette Industries Ltd A-289 Okhla Industrial Area, Phase -1, New Delhi. Pt Som Nath Sharma recites in a very sweet but extremely clear voice both in Sanskrit and Hindi. I got these from http://www.rudraksha-ratna.com/ with other stuff. Speak to Ms Neeta Sharma, very helpful and caring lady. I have spent a lot of time and separated the Sanskrit mantras from these tapes into a 2 cassette set for my own use. The mantra only set that I thus created would go for 2.25hours. 2. I am trying to get another another set, haven't rec'd it yet. MAVar360 Durga Saptashati 3 CD's, Voice of Rajan, Sajan Mishra and Gurinder Harnam Singh 3. There are other sets available around the net.
