Guest guest
OM SHAKTI I THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY GIVEN TO ME TO FUTHER LOOK INTO THE MATTER. THE FOLLOWING WEBSITE GIVES SOME IDEA ON THE SUBJECT RAISED BY SMT. SUNDARESAN: http://www.nilacharal.com/news/religion/aum.html#15 FOR EASY REFERENCE PURPOSE I APPEND THE EXTRACT ON THE SUBJECT MATTER THEREFROM : The Modakam In representations of Vinayagar, He is depicted as holding the modakam, a sweet cake, in one hand. There are usually modakam placed in a tray in front of him or held by His trunk. This is to show that the spiritually wise man always finds the world and life sweet as it enables him to be of service to his fellow beings of God. It also affords him an opportunity to improve himself and progress towards Sivagati. The modakam consists of the outer flour portion and the inner sweet portion. The inner sweet portion represents the Supreme. The message is that man must dive within himself, transcend the outer, in order to find the inner treasure. HOPE THIS MAY PROVIDE SOME INITIAL IDEA. MORE INTENSE IDEAS ARE WELCOME. PRANAM TO SHAKTHI Narayanan s_seshagiri <s_seshagiri wrote: Dear Narayanan, I believe Smt. Sundaresan is already aware of what you have mentioned. She is probably looking for something more "significant" (to use her own words) than what you have written. If you still wish, please send her the above email provately. Hope you don't misunderstand.
