Guest guest
KOZHUKATTAI. Dear Members, Thanks for responding to my query. The website, suggested, gives me more insight on this matter We observe our customs and rituals without understanding significance of it. One such is to know about the ‘kozhukattai’. The elaborate process of preparing the delicacy also involves time consuming and difficult. It is our duty to inculcate the sanctity and significance of these offerings to our younger generation. ‘rice flour’ covering ‘poornam’ does not yearn for the sweetness. “Jagat” (flour) enveloping “Anandaswaroopam” (poornam) does not yearn/attach itself to the sweetness of “chaitanyam” . Your definition “The modakam consists of the outer flour portion and the inner sweet portion. The inner sweet portion represents the Supreme. The message is that man must dive within himself, transcend the outer, in order to find the inner treasure” is quite apt So, one should not get attachment to worldly pleasures. Thanks for the same Shivashankari Sundaresan. with love and regards, sivashankari sundaresan Free online calendar with sync to Outlook.
