Guest guest
In "Shree DurgA sapthaShathi", the Mother is called "aparAjithA" - the invincible one (chandee, 5th chapter, "uttama charitram", shlOkas 1-7). The ShlOkas starting with "dEvA oochuh" (no. 8 to 82) are collectively called as "aparAjithA stOtra". The "chandee" is highly regarded in the mantra ShAstra; it is said that the Mother will curse those who chant/pronounce the "paaT" incorrectly (the "aparAdha-kShamApaNA" stOtra is prescribed only for the mistakes done unknowingly). Hence I would like to advise you to kindly refer the above mentioned information in a good book in sAnskrt or any other language you are familiar with. "MAYURI LIVE CASSETES" have brought out a very good audio cassete titled "Shri Durga Sapthashathi", priced Rs.100 INR. The voice is rendered by two Vedic Scholars and it is the best I have come across untill now. It is available at VEDANTA BOOK HOUSE, BANGALORE. kind regards > This is excellent! in addition, does anyone have 'Aparajitha > Stotra' script in English, and also on cassette or CD, or know > where to find one, please, is there a picture or 'Aparajitha', > or is it just a name. On the same note do all of these have > diffirent images [pictures]??? > > ThankQ > Lada
Guest guest
I have been reading the interesting posts on 64 Yoginis and my mind has cropped up with various questions out of ignorance which I am placing before the group members so as to gain more knowledge on the subject: 1). What / Who exactly are the Yoginis - are they Devis / Devtas or..else? 2). If there are 64 crores Yoginis in number, then why do we call them only 64 Yoginis 3). In the Aarti of Durga, in Hindi, a line says "CHHOSANTH YOGINI GAVAT, NRITYA KARAT BHAIRON (The 64 Yoginis sing and Bharon dances)". Can somebody explain the (intrinsic)meaning of this line. 4). Normally it is said that all living creatures take a total of 64 Crore births (Yonis) on this earth, in various forms like different animals, birds, insects etc., finally taking the birth of a Human being, which is the supreme birth and the last yoni before the human being meets the Lord and attains Moksha. Is there any correlation between 64 crores Yonis and Yoginis? Thanks and regards, Lokesh Madan In , "N.K.Sundaram" <nks@n...> wrote: > Om Shakthi !
