the upanishads

rUpa.n = form

yamaH = Lord of death, Yama

O Mother! as long as I see your form as the essence of the vedas and the

upanishads, Yama - even though he has an uncontrollable anger, moves far

away from with his messengers under control.

The fear associated with death will not trouble a devotee who sees the

Goddess as the essence of the upanishads. When one understands her in such a

manner, the state one attains could very well be called moksha. Where is

death for a realised soul? He understands that death is only for the body

and not for the Atman.
