Dear Arvind Kumarji,

 

Your devotion to universal Mother is moving everyone in the heart and i am sure

She would lead you to an appropriate place where you should belong.

 

The opinion expressed by me on the questions posed is a personal one , gained by

virtue of my Guru's blessings and association with some of the learned and

senior Sadhaks . this need not bind you. however many of the members may share

my views.

 

All forms of Devi Speak of One Supreme Shakthi -- Lalith Maha Tripura Sundarai.

It is her manifestation both animate and inanimate.You should basically chose a

form which should be liked by you and when you meditate on that form, you should

able to recall the form. So one need not worry if one choses to pick up anytime,

one form over the other.

 

Typically any Vigraha that can be kept in the house for worship should not

exceed one's palm's height. there can be exception if the Guru permits. The

bigger the vigraha the intensive must be your prayers, Shraddha and aradhana.

That must be the reason for the size. Any metallic Vighraha must be made of an

alloy of five metals --- gold,silver,copper etc. It sholud be also three

dimensional and not hollow behind.

 

For a Chita pata ( photo) to do the Prana prathishta - - is a simple procdure

and any book on puja Vidhi would give you details which would include some basic

upacharas. For a photograph when the Sthapan is done it is not permanently

energised divinely and the shakthi stays till the puja ends.Therefore it is

necessary to do it evertime.The rules vary for Srichakra -- When it is made of

pure gold it is eternal and if it is made of copper it is 12 years and so on.

Procedures are elaborate for sthapan of sri chakra.

 

As your mail indicates that you are yet to seek a guru, it is better not to

attempt doing Parayana of DM or Homa based on the views of members of any group.

If you are very inclined this can still be done with the help of learned priests

who are qualified to do this. Chanting Devi Mahatmeeyam requires initiation of '

Navakshari mantra ' and there are several preliminary things like Nyasas

sookthas Japa etc to be done before Devi mahaatmeeyam parayana and further it

involves concluding procedures -- which is best left to the Guru to initiate it.

Parayana requires flawless recitation which should be practiced chapter by

chapter with the help of a guru or a learned person.

 

 

 

Doing DM homa involves intensive efforts which is more rigorous and elaborate

involving sthapan of different deities , navagraha Homa, ganapathy homa, nandi

Shraddha etc and for every homa atleast ten parayanas must be done.

 

Chandi Homa is done on Mahaashtmi day of Navarathri all over India and

internationally including Musact where i live. Initially it is better you

involve by associating yourself with the organisers of Homa and helping them. In

this process you can get some preliminary ideas by observing it and you may by

devi's grace get a guru in such holy atmospheres.

 

 

As even a blade of grass cannot move without Her will , i am sure She must be

waiting to bless you soon with an appropriate Guru with your input bhakthi.

Sthapana of that photograph at my house.Un fortunately

I could not get any Guru but with HER grace very soon

I will get someone who can lead me to higher level of

worship.

 

I want to recite Durga Sapthshati and do Home with 700

verses of that scripture.My main doubt is that,

 

Can I recite Durga Sapthashati in front of Kamakshi

Photograph?

 

How the recitation should be done and Home should be

performed?

 

This I should do it on Panchami or Ashtami?

 

Earlier I bought a Durga Idol for Sthapana but now

shifting to Kamakshi, is it right or not?

 

What should I do while doing sthapna of Kamakshi at my

house?

 

I will be very very great full if any learned group

member can throw some light on above topics and remove

some doubts those are bugging my mind.
