Guest guest
1) There is a verse in shivAnandalaharI starting with guhAyAm gehe vA ..., please see http://www.escribe.com/religion/advaita/m7077.html. 2) From vaidyanAtha diixiiyam "Apasthambar:- Dharma and Adharma do not move around saying "I am Dharma" and "I am Adharma". Even Devas, Gandharvas, and ancestors cannot point and say "This is Dharma", and "This is Adharma", since Dharma has no physical form. Whichever activity eminent persons praise, that is Dharma. Whichever activity they condemn, that is Adharma. " http://acharya.iitm.ac.in/mirrors/vv/literature/dharmasastras/ds1a.html Now consider based the following based on 2: a) Puri shankaracharaya visited the US in early 1950s accepting the invitation of Sri Paramahansa Yogananda. Acharya, however, could come only after yoganandaji attained samadhi. b) Sringeri maTha has foundataion in the US and a priest for this was picked personally by HH and sent to the foundation. Please see www.svbf.org c) ati rudra maha yajna was conducted by SVBF under the directions of HH bhaarati tiirtha swamigaL few years on a grand scale. His video recorded message was played at that time. If karma is totally not valid in US etc, why would aacharya bless and guide such an event. He even sent his representative to one of the meetings in UN (New York). d) kAnchi maTha also has representation in the US. Please see http://www.kanchikamakoticenter.org/intro.html If you think kAnchi and Sringeri achaarya-s really condemn such a travel, accepting that they have integrity, why do you think they would have supported the above. People must be kidding themselves if they say somehow Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia is a better place to observe our dharma than Houston, TX!!! If you really want peace of mind on this issue, take a trip to Kanchi and Sringeri and ask the acharya-s whether you should go or not (when you have an opportunity). And do what they say. Personally, I would go to Mars if I get an opportunity in my life time to do so. I can worship God wherever I am and I could not care less if I am brahmaNa or not. My 2c. Guest guest
The main four praychittas prescribesd are a) Sethu snanam at Dhanuskodi with proper sanklapam, and the list of danams like cow, gold, etc. b) Punar upanayanam c) 24000 gayatri japam and d) Prajapatya Kirchanam. All may look easy when it come to reality it is difficult, as 99% of people will not take a pratyaksha cow danam at Dhanuskodi, Getting a punar upanayanam is getting extremely difficult as there are only a handful of vedic pundits who know this prayogam, and they are all octogenerians. Guest guest
Dear Devotees, The question which I am posing is out of the context. But still I do it so that the learned members on the list can guide. 12th is the upaakarma and Gayatri-prathi-path is also on 12th itself. So when should we do the Gayatri-japam ?? Should we do the Gayatri-japam before upakarma or do the japam in the evening after the karma or should we do the japam on 13th morning ? Can somebody who is staying in the vicinity of Sringeri or Kanchi, enquire the aachaaryas to clarify what should be the order of these two thins ( upakarma and Gayati-japam ) ??
