My name is Shivani Sannyasini. I am a life~long

Brahmacharini and Initiate of the Ramakrishna Vedanta

Order. After serving my Gurudeva Swami Shraddhanandaji

Maharaj in the Vedanta Society Of Sacramento for 2

years, my Gurudeva initiated me, when young, into

Sacred Mantra Diksha Brahmacharya and gave me the name

Shivani, in the Summer of 1977.

 

I remained as Swami Shraddhanandaji's personal

attendent

until his entering into final Maha Samadhi in 1996.

 

I served the Temple Ashrama and Gardens of the Vedanta

Society in all ways, and my Gurudeva from early

morning until late at night with no vacation {i did

not want a vacation}.

 

I was given the name Shivani by my Gurudeva because I

have the nature of a "female" Shiva. My temperment is

ViJnani. Advaita Jnana and Prema Bhakti Merged Into

One.

I also resonate deeply with Pashupati Shiva "The Lord

Of Animals~Creatures". I am dedicated to Vegan Ahimsa.

 

I am a devotee of Sri Ramakrishna as well as Shiva and

Shakti.

 

Kali Puja... Durga Puja ... Jagaddhatri Puja ...Lalita

Puja ...Lakshmi Puja ... Sarasvati Puja etc. and study

 

of India's Tantric Texts {for me non~sexual} and

Chandi, all concerning Devi are very important.

 

Daily I accompanied my Gurudeva walked many

circumambulations around the many acres of the Ashrama

and its verdent Gardens replete with many huge Trees

{many exotic Trees from India also} the trails and the

flower gardens... outdoor altars to Shiva...

Shankara... bigger than life~size light blue Krishna

standing playing flute etc. Two very large lotus

ponds. Fruit trees. And, a large Organic vegetable

garden {which for awhile I planted and tended alone}

 

Daily, as my Gurudeva and myself walked thus...he had

me do vedic sanskrit chanting from sacred texts, from

memory alone, in correct meter and intonation,

continually without a break. {some of the sacred vedic

etc. texts mentioned above}

 

My Foundation is Advaita...Shiva...Shankara's

Works.... and Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa ~

Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda etc.

 

I Love the Vedas * Upanishads * Rig Veda * Chandi *

Vivekachudamani * Yoga Vashishta * Patanjali *

Shiva and Devi Puranas * Rama Gita * Ashtavraka

Samhita

* Puranas etc.

 

* I have studied Sanskrit many years. I have had

article published in India international Ramakrishna

Vedanta magazine:

"Vedanta Keshari" entitled "Sri Ramakrishna: The

Master Tapasvin" and given talk on Sri Sarada Devi in

Vedanta Temple on Her Birthday Celebration at the

Vedanta Society of Sacramento CA. I have transcribed

countless taped lectures of my Gurudeva also into

articles for publication. I also yearly wrote,

compliled and typed up all information delivered at

the Vedanta Society annual meeting report of all the

Vedanta Societies Activities ect. of each year, it is

attended by many Swami's from other Vedanta Societies.

 

I have a Hinduism {but not much time to

continually attend to it}:
