Guest guest
|| Jai Sadguru Dutta || Shree “Swarna Gauree Vratha” is celeberated every year throughout Bharatha Varsha on Bhaadrapad Shukla paksha trtheeya, by married women (Sumangalee), praying for the welfare of their spouse, children and brothers. This year, it falls on 30th August, Saturday. The Vratha is explained in the “GaureeKhand” of the “SkaandapuraaNa”. In this Vratha, Maa Jagadambaa Shree SwarNa Gauree, a form of Adhi Shakthi is worshipped according to the scriptures. A sacred thread containing 16 strands and 16 knots is also worshipped and in the end, tied around the right wrist. Here the number 16 represents “Shodashakalaa” – 16 virtues/powers of Adhi Shakthi. Here is a piece of text (attachment to this mail – Gauree pooja.bmp) that contains the Puja of Mother in a very brief manner. Instead of lengthy mantras, it contains only the Names of the Mother selected mainly from “Shree Lalithaa Sahasranaama”, “Shree Lalithaa ashtOtthara” and “Shree Lalithaa thrishathee”. Shree Lalithaa Sahasranaama is called “Manthra raaja” and occupies the highest place in the Shaaktha tradition. I will be blessed if you use this text in your puja. My million salutations to you all. Guest guest
PraNAm Ravi. You are absolutely correct. The document needs Baraha devanagari extra fonts. And it can be downloaded from http://www.baraha.com/baraha2000.htm. Initially, I tried posting the .bmp file which would not require any of the fonts, but found that, the letters were so small that any one could hardly read it. , "M. S.
