Since time immemorial , thousands of saints and seers have worn the Rudraksha

for self empowerment and spiritual progress. Now with scientific advancement

people are rediscovering the healing powers of rudraksha beads.

 

It was in the 1980s that a thorough research was carried out by a team of

scientists led by Dr. Suhas Roy of Institute of Technology – Banaras could prove

the electro magnetic, Paramagnetic and inductive properties of Rudraksha

scientifically with reproducible results.

 

The healing qualities of Rudraksha by virtue of electrical and magnetic

properties are known to control stress levels, blood pressure, hypertension and

induce tranquil powers.

 

Apart from medical help these beads have other properties which are useful in

transformation of one’s personality and outlook in a positive manner.

 

Botanically called – Elaeocarpus ganitrus roxb – are the seeds of fruit from

rudraksha trees which are grown in Nepal and parts of Himalayan India. Also

grown in Java, Taiwan, Indonesia and Malaysia.

 

Various types from a single mukhi to fifteen mukhi ( Facets ) and Gauri shankam

known to Exist.

 

The Devi Bhagavatam, Shiva Maha Puran and Padma Puran have references to

Rudraksha and also prescribe the usage and powers of different types of beads.

 

In China too these beads are used for balancing the Yin and yang energy fields

and smoothening the flow of CHI the life energy.

 

There are many practioners who prescribe a certain number and type for

overcoming a medical problem or materialistic position of a person. For example

a 16 mukhi is prescribed for curing ailments related to thyroid, spleen and
