Guest guest
Dear Ma Bhaktas I found a picture of Ma Kali in the net and i would like to ask about it . Sri Ramakrishna said that one should not keep pictures of wrathful forms of Ma at home if he is not capable of worshipping them appropriately everyday. I want to print this picture and i would like to ask your opinion. The posture is the same with the posture of the statue of Bhavatarini in Dakshineswar but i don't know if it would be good to have it at home as it is not like the usual paintings i have seen. Thank you [moderator's note: I removed the link and I hope readers can answer without seeing the image. ]
Guest guest
Any form of Ma is beautiful for the devotee but that doesn't mean it is not a wrathful form. Ma Kali is depicted in different ways and as long as i know it is not contradictive to refer to her in this way. Why should it be, some of Her names also, like Bhayankari have similar meaning but that doesn't mean her devotees should be afraid of Her. Also in the gospel of Sri Ramakrishna he specifically talks about wrathful forms, at least in the translation i have. Until now i have never heard it is not right for a bhakta to refer to one of her forms as wrathful. Could you tell me more about it , or tell me in what way you mean it ? Guest guest
Thank you for your reply. The reason i was thinking about it is that i don't have instructions on puja and i can't do it "formally". So i was not certain if it is good to have it.
