Guest guest
VYAGRAPURI VEDA PARIPALANA SAMITI 25, Govindu Street, T. Nagar, Chennai 600 017 Contact Ph: 044-28158329 / 22345287 AN APPEAL Our Samiti, as part of its objectives of propagating Vedas and Sastras, in a small way, conduct regular Veda Paraayanam and Homam at Sri Vyagrapureeswarar and Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal temples at Puliyur Village near Nagapattinam, in the last 9-10 years. Every year, the Samiti conducts five important functions namely Special Homams and Thirukkalyana Utsavam in Avani (September), 108- Sankaabishekam in Karthigai (November), Sri Vidya related Homam in Margazhi (Dec/Jan), Akshaya Triteeyai in Chitrai (April) – all in Puliyur, and Sivarathri (Feb) in Selva Vinayagar Temple at Ekkaduthangal, Chennai. It has also conducted Special Maha Rudram and Satha Chandi Homam in 1997 and 2000 respectively. Vedas are considered as ‘basis tenets’, on which Hindu dharma (way of life) sustains. Besides, Vedas contain manthras with which we evoke divine powers and obtain benefits for health and happiness. Strength of Vedic scholars is dwindling and we need to support the existing scholars and encourage young people to take up learning of Vedas as a full time. With this objective in mind, our Samiti has decided to create an Endowment to help the poor Vedic students and mainly conduct Veda Paraayanam on important occasions at Puliyur temples. To start with, we need annually Rs 16,000 to conduct at least one complete recitation of Yajur Veda (both Samhita and Sakha), during Karthigai month (Nov/Dec), as Dakshinai to 8 Vedic Scholars, exclusive of food, vastram, shawl and Abishekam on the concluding day at the temple. This means, a minimum corpus of Rs 3,00,000 is needed to sustain this noble initiative. Value of each Endowment is kept at Rs 1,000 (Rs. One thousand only). We request all lovers of our great Vedic culture to liberally help this initiative by taking up as many endowments, as possible. Cheque or draft may please be drawn favouring “V.V.P.S. – VEDA PARAAYANAM”, payable at Chennai and sent to the above address at the earliest, along with your name and nakshatram for Sankalpam purpose. Thanks & Regards, Vande Veda Mataram L. Vaidyanathan, Audco. P. Sankaran, Auditor Chennai 600 017 September 20, 2003 ______________________ India Matrimony: Find your partner online.
