Guest guest
Sub : T A R A D E V I Glory to the Divine mother in the name of Tara Devi or Neel saraswathi or Eka Jada and She represents the second great vidya of dasha Maha vidya . In my personal opinion the Buddhist religion is popular due to Her power. According to the Indian Buddhism she is the consort of the great Buddha Avalokiteshvara and as per Chinese Buddhism She is called Kwan Yin – showing full of compassion of a mother. While kali is the power of Time, Tara represents the power of sound – shabda shakthi. Tara also means the star on the horizon which appears floating and similarly Tari means a Dhow . just like a Dhow she prevents her devotees from sinking into sea of births and deaths in the time horizon. In the durga sooktha refer Her through the mantra of “ Naveva Sindum Durithath Agnihi “. She is known from the Vedic periods through Tara Upanishad and Tarakashtam praises her as an ocean of mercy. Tara is seated on the manipuraka charka of the human body – the shruthi vakya is Gorwri Mimaya –she is the Akshara Upinishad Vidya -- . The power of Lord Rama is supposed to come from Tara. Tara’s upasana was only popular in the uttara Bharath ( Kashmir side ) and she became popular in the Dhakshina bharath due to the efforts of the wife of Vashishta Ganapathy muni . ( Ramana Gita ) Tara’s upasana would make the devotee a good orator with an authoritative knowledge and a great poet. ( Kashmir Shaktha Scriptures ) other incidental benefits includes recognition by the Govt and wealth , power to finally transcend all material things like our achievements – accomplishments. ( as she is related to sound and speech ) The tara tantra refers about the sages who have benefited like Vashishta, Durvasa, Vyasa, Vaalmiki, Bharadwaja etc As per Rudra Yamala , Tara was known to the people of Tibet through sage Vashista and the Sage installed Her power in the Kama peeta at Gauhati. Since Tara is the power of Sound She is the related to the feminine form of OM ( manifested ) Pranava OM. Is the unmanifested. Tara is the purifying force of our vital breath – the unuttered mantra SO’HAM and this mantra when meditated would purify our mind. Tara relates to the third of the four stages of speech -- pasyanti, the state of seeing. She is sound that perceives the eternal truth. Anantha koti namaskarams to The Tara Devi who is blue in color like Kail, with matted hair, wearing a garland of human heads, having four hands holding a sword, a scissor, a severed head and a lotus -- dancing on a corpse -- Tara also has eight serpants as ornaments which gives Ashtama Siddies, her scissor cuts off all attachments of maya, the lotus is the open heart which She has for the devotees.
