Guest guest
Dear devotee, Devi's forehead is so graceful as the " Ashtami Chandra " --- LS Ashtami is the 8th day from Krishna or Shukla Paksha . If one analyses this phase of the moon, the moon's shape is seen exactly as Half , a rare event if either the moon is waxing or waning. On no other thithi this happens -- so it is holy. This phase the moon is soothing and bright as a middle phase of the moon -- called Visuvat. This wonderful is the wonderful moment of non bodage " Krtyasunya ". As Devi is the queen of this cosmos Her forehead is just like the Ashtami chandra -- - So perfect like a protractor which has an upper curve so symmetrical that any angle can be measured. ( comparison is a personal view ). Attention is also invited to the shloka 46 of Soundarya Lahari which sings the glory of the forehead of Devi ( " Lallatam lavanya -------------------raka Himakaraha ) The importance of ashtami has other significances such as : SHE who is worshipped by the 8 divine powers from Brahmi, vaishnavi ---- to Durga. So ashtami is an important day for fasting and worship of Mother. ashtami is also described in the puranas -- certain details available in Narad purana. In the parlance of Tantra Yoga ashtami marks the point where power of the awakened Kundalini turns to be blissful. It is called the square, LUMBIKA CATUSPATHA where the two nadis ida and pingala gets absorbed into sushumna, the middle path direct towards the sahasrara. it is the measure of the eighth digit, towards the higher region where complete union of Siva -- Shakthi takes place. For further deatails refer the book on the subject by Lakshman Joo. Guest guest
Ashtami , Navami and Chaturdashi are also very holy days for reciting Devi Mahatmeeyam as per the 12th Chapter of Chandi Pat ( DM ). What i fail to understand is, that ashtami in spite of being holy day , why do our elders specially in South India , prohibit to do anything including starting a travel on Ashtami and Navami stating as inausipcious -- pradiipajvaalaabhirdivasakaraniiraajanavidhiH sudhaasuuteshcandropalajalalavairarghyaracanaa . svakiiyairambhobhiH salilanidhisauhityakaraNaM tvadiiyaabhirvaagbhistava janani vaacaaM stutiriyam.h www : http://www.ambaa.org/ Contact: help Ganapathy --- Vijaya " Jai Bhavani " - - - - " Jai Sri Lalitha Maha Maha Tripura Sundari " " Sarvam Shakti Mayam Jagath " The New with improved product search
