Pranam

Shree Prasanna Shrinivasji posted some selection from " The Mother " by Sri

Aurobindo sometime back on Maha Kali, Mahalaxmi, Mahasaraswathi and Maheshwari.

some more thoughts on this subject is added . ( from my close spiritual friend

Shree Venkatraman )

Sri Aurobindo's (Sri A ) Mother, from which these are extracted, arises from his

deep understanding of Devi Mahatmyam. In fact his commentaries give us clear

understanding of various issues involved in life. For eg. one of the attitude

for spiritual aspirant is to surrender his earnings to Divine and take it back

as prasad and spend it as custodian of Divine funds.

This is what is said, says Sri A, in keelakam, " dadaati prati gruhnati nanyai

thesha praseedati, ittam roopena keelana maha deve na keelitam" In fact this

attitude is said to be the key in spiritual unfoldment. While we all can talk

about this implementing it is very difficult indeed and we need Divine Grace for

that.

Sri A had emphasised on the inner attitudes so minutely, not so much on outside

prayers and other detailed modes of worship. He has also explained seamlessly

one of the least noted and appreciated aspects in in Devi Mahatmyam. The Vaishya

seeks Gyanam and we all wonder why the king sought Rajyam. These aspects are

vividly discussed by Sri A.

Rajyam - SvaRajyam - requires applied living, constantly experimenting and

critically examining ourselves minutely on various such small Granthis.

Granthis - Their function is to divert us away from our main purpose, so long as

we are not fit enough to go to the next stage in spiritual evolution. Living

requires application and requires very careful and continued perseverence. This

is the reason why the King Suratha - sought this state - rather than the state

of "Tava Gyanam".

What is important is that we do what is called "Walk the Talk". The advisers are

not for others but only for ourselves, as what we see as deficiency in others is

what we have with ourselves.

Thanks for the post
