Guest guest
Dear Saiji, Pranams. An authoritative explanation of Yoni Mudra as to its Lakshana and meanings (Vaasana) are explained by HH Bhaskara Raya in " Sethu BHandam" and He says has to be learnt from a guru only. Mudras are done using both the hands which symbolically denotes the Shiva-- Shakthi unity aspects.Mudras originate from Tantra Sastras particularly from tantra raja tantra and nithya shodasikaarnavam. The Names of Dasa Mudra are stated below. These are the most important Mudras used while performing Sri Vidya Navavarana Puja . The Mudras are shown to Devi before concluding each avarana puja. the ten are stated in the order from first avarana. sarva samkshobini sarva vidhravini sarva karshini sarva vasankari sarvon madhini sarva mahankusha sarva kecheri ( the most difficult one and requires lot of practice to do it ) sarva beeja sarva yoni sarva thrikanta ( can be done only by a person having Shodasi manthra ) Annaji of RK mutt has published a very useful guide for doing many mudras , which is known as " Mudra Vidhanam " -- explains the methodology to do these mudras apart from other mudras . saikumar_durga <saikumar_durga wrote: Pranam, Yoni mudra is depicted differently at diff web sites. Most common one I have seen is using the fingers to close ears, eyes, nostrils and mouth. (but what does this have to do with the name 'yoni'). There are two other variations in which fingers are used to get the shape of yoni. (but here again there is diff in how the shape is reperesented). Why are variations present for this mudra? Can someone please let me know where I can get the exact representation. Also I would be very greatful if someone could mention the names of the dasa mudras.
